I am very excited to be teaching at Layton Elementary! This happens to be the third stop on my teaching train.First came STARBASE, a STEM school funded by the Air Force and located on Hill Air Force Base.In fact, I received my call-sign (BATMAN) here as an instructor. How? You say.Well, I love baseball and everything about it.I have also been known to dabble in the comic arena, so bat – man was given to me by the rest of the STARBASE faculty four years ago and it’s stuck ever since.Next, after STARBASE, I began my Davis School District career at Lincoln Elementary, the home of the Lynx.I spent two fun-filled years with a great team and teachers who really mentored me during this early time (Thanks Carol Lee and Tami!).Now at Layton Elementary, I am with an outstanding team and community of learning and friendship.
Now, I haven’t been teaching my life.I needed 21 years in the Air Force to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. The Air Force took my family and I all over this country. We saw many things we probably wouldn’t have without the support of the world’s greatest Air Force!
I mentioned my family, well, I am married and have six great children. Most have grown up and married, but we still get together often and play games, one of my great interests. As mentioned before,I love baseball and follow the Philadelphia Phillies (I know, it’s a story dating back to my youth). I also follow football and the Pittsburgh Steelers, another story from my youth. When I am away from the television and these sporting events, I love to run and read…just not at the same time.
I’m often training for some race, not so I can win, in many cases, I just want to finish well.Plus, it allows me to enjoy my other interest, music.I enjoy all types of music, from acapella to zydeco and everything in between! So, if you see me running and wave, don’t think I’m being rude, just jammin’ out to something. Finally, many ask who my favorite superhero is…well, ironically, it’s Daredevil, but Batman is a close second!
Thank you very much for this opportunity to teach you or your children this year!I truly look forward to year-long growth within each of my students. Each year unleashes new and exciting experiences where everyone enhances learning to levels far beyond expectations.
Why do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up.
