🎉✏️ And just like that… we made it to the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! ☀️📚 What a year it has been — full of learning, laughter, growth, friendships, unforgettable memories, and so many moments that made this year one for the books! ❤️ We are SO proud of all our amazing students, teachers, and families for everything we accomplished together. Field Day at Layton Elementary was one for the books! 🥳 Even though it was chilly outside, that didn’t stop the fun for a second! From bubble machines and water balloon slingshots to bounce houses and dumping buckets of water on the 6th graders 😂 — the excitement never slowed down. Add in some yummy popsicles, lots of laughter, and nonstop smiles, and it’s easy to see why this is one of the most anticipated days of the year. The annual 6th Grade vs. Staff kickball game was one for the books! 🥎🔥 Our 6th graders came out swinging, kicking, and RUNNING the bases like pros — dominating their way to an unforgettable 52–5 victory over the staff! 😳👏 The staff may need a few ice packs… and maybe a rematch next year 😂 Absolute MVP behavior from the entire 6th grade class! 💪🥎 And can we talk about the cutest cheering section ever?! 🥹📣 Our younger students brought so much energy and excitement from the sidelines and made the whole event even more fun. 🥚🚁 A @laytonelementaryschool FAVORITE is back… the EPIC Egg Drop from the roof! Our students put their engineering skills to the test as they designed, packed, and protected their eggs for the ultimate challenge: a rooftop drop! 😱🏫 The mission? Keep the egg alive with NO cracks after the big fall! 🥚 From creative cushioning to wild contraptions, students showed off incredible problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation. At Layton Elementary, our admins are truly part of the FOUNDATION of our school. Honestly, the place might crumble without them! 💙 There are not enough words to express how much they do for our students, staff, and families every single day. ✨ Mrs. Teague has been part of the Layton family for years, teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade for 7 years before stepping into administration. She LOVES traveling — especially when it involves watching her kids play soccer ⚽️ — and she is counting down the days until the World Cup this summer! 🌎 She could probably survive on tacos 🌮 and sushi 🍣 alone, and if there’s music or a concert involved, she’s all in! 🎶🎤 ⚡ Mr. Campbell is basically the celebrity of recess! The students LOVE when he has time to head out to the playground and join the fun. He’s been in education for 13 years and loves working with the amazing students at Layton. He’s also a huge Harry Potter fan ⚡📚 and enjoys reading, traveling, and bringing energy and positivity everywhere he goes! 🔐✨ Our 6th graders took on the ultimate “middle school mission” at lunch today — the Combination Lock Challenge! From spinning dials to celebrating those click! moments, these students are getting ready for their next big adventure one locker at a time. 🎒💙 It’s hard to believe these amazing kids are almost saying goodbye to elementary school. ✨ Our Amazing Prep Teachers! ✨ We LOVE our prep teachers and all the fun, creativity, energy, and learning they bring to our school year! Our students are so lucky to learn from these amazing educators each week. 💙💛 🏃‍♀️ Mrs. West – PE Mrs. West loves being a PE teacher and helping students stay active and healthy! Outside of school, she loves theater and co-owns Byway Theatre with her husband and sister. 🎭 In her spare time, you can often find her stage managing productions. 💻 Mrs. Hawes – Computers Mrs. Hawes loves crafting, learning new skills, and helping students explore technology in fun and creative ways! ✂️✨ She brings creativity and curiosity to the computer lab every day. 💻 Mrs. Berry – Computers Mrs. Berry has been teaching since 2019 and loves being part of the Layton Elementary family—especially since all four of her children have attended the school! ❤️ She enjoys traveling, playing games, listening to audiobooks, and cheering on her kids in all they do. 🎨 Mrs. Robbins – Art Mrs. Robbins loves creating and teaching art while helping students express their creativity! 🎨 She also enjoys reading, laughing, playing games, listening to audiobooks, and finding good deals whenever she can. We are so grateful for these amazing teachers and all they do for our students each day! 💙💛

🌋🫧 Do bubbles come out of volcanoes?! 🤔 After some research, our students decided… probably not — but wouldn’t that be AWESOME?! 😄 This week, our students took on TWO exciting science projects! 🌟 First, they learned all about volcanoes and even built their own erupting models. 🌋💥 Then, they switched gears and experimented with bubble solutions, testing which mixtures made the best bubbles while learning about surface tension. 🫧🔬 From explosive eruptions to floating bubbles, our students had so much fun exploring science through hands-on learning and creativity! @laytonelemenetaryschool @davisschooldistrict

Who says you have to head to the mountains to go camping? ⛺🌲 At Layton Elementary, we brought camping day right into the classroom! Students enjoyed tents indoors, faux campfires, spooky flashlight stories, and lots of laughter along the way. 🔦🔥📚 Camping day was the perfect way to spark imagination, creativity, and learning as students explored storytelling, teamwork, and adventure all without leaving school grounds! Nothing says summer is almost here like fresh lemonade and a lemonade stand! ☀️🍋 Mrs. Kilmer’s class listened carefully and followed step-by-step instructions on how to make lemonade to make sure every sip was just right. Students also practiced buying lemonade from a stand using coins and counting their money like real customers! 💰🍹 The best part? Drinking their lemonade out of Ziploc bags made it even more fun! 🎲♟️ GAME ON, gratitude edition! ♟️🎲 This week, our incredible PTA turned Teacher Appreciation Week into the ultimate board game adventure! 💛 From the Candy Land candy bar 🍭 and soda bar 🥤 to the fresh flower bar 🌸 and cheerful game-themed break room 🎯, every detail made our teachers feel so loved and appreciated. 💙✨ Shoutout to our AMAZING SPED Team! ✨💙 We are beyond lucky to have such a dedicated, compassionate, and all-around incredible Special Education department. The love, patience, and commitment they bring every single day make a lasting difference in the lives of our students. They truly are the heart of our school! Let’s share a few fun facts about these rockstars: 🏕️ Ms. Nielsen is gearing up for an exciting new chapter—retirement! She loves camping and can’t wait to hit the road in her trailer for some well-deserved adventures. ✈️ Mrs. Pope is a proud mom of 5 and grandma of 9! She loves to travel, and her favorite destination is Mackinac Island—where there are no cars, just charm and relaxation. 🥤 Mrs. Trout is a devoted Coke Zero fan and just returned from an amazing two-week cruise in Greece… we were honestly a little worried she might never come back! 😄 👩‍👧 Mrs. Johnson and Miss. Kylie are a dynamic mother-daughter duo. Can you see the resemblance? Spring magic is in full swing at recess! 🦋🌸 Layton has officially turned into our very own butterfly farm, with cozy little cocoons popping up all over the school. One by one, they’ve been waking up, stretching their wings, and joining us on the playground! These tiny fluttery friends have made recess extra special—some even sticking around to “play” with us like the cutest little classmates ever. 💛 Who knew recess could come with so much wingspan and wonder? Meet the one and only Mrs. Willis 💕✨ Our Kindergarten Prep superstar has the biggest heart and a way of making every little learner feel right at home! From fun-filled PE games to imaginative art projects 🎨 and even helping kinders shine with their computer skills 💻—she truly does it all! Mrs. Willis is already part of the Layton Elementary family (times three! 😉), with all of her kids having attended here. And if you ask her, her favorite role of all is being grandma to her 3 littles—she says it’s the BEST thing ever! 🥰 When she’s not busy inspiring young minds, you can find her traveling, enjoying delicious food, or catching a good movie 🍿✈️🍴 We are so lucky to have such a fun, caring, and dedicated teacher shaping our future learners! 💛 @laytonelementaryschool @davisschooldistrict

Our 2nd graders had the COOLEST visit from some amazing friends at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium! 🐢🐛🦎 From creepy crawlers to turtle pals, our students got an up-close look at some incredible creatures while learning all about the rainforest. 🌿🌧️ They even practiced making rainforest sounds! 🐒🌴 So much curiosity, laughter, and hands-on learning happening all around! Tell me it’s Stuffy Day at Layton Elementary without telling me it’s Stuffy Day… 😂 Nothing like watching a kid confidently haul a GIANT stuffed animal across the crosswalk like it’s totally normal (and honestly, it should be). 🧸 Days like this are the best—it’s so fun seeing our kids with their stuffed animals and show them off like prized trophies.
