🎄🎅✨ Santa Got a STEM Upgrade! ✨🎅🎄 Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Gallegos’ STEM superstars turned creativity into Christmas magic by making light-up Santa cards for their loved ones! 💡❤️ Using copper wire, a battery, and an LED light, students brought Santa to life—literally! Lots of thinking, tinkering, and festive fun went into these glowing creations, and the results were bright in every way ✨🎄. 🎄✨ Christmas Magic in the Halls! ✨🎄 Our school was filled with holiday cheer as the 6th grade orchestra played Christmas music through the halls! 🎻🎶 Their hard work, dedication, and incredible talent were on full display as festive tunes floated from classroom to classroom. 🌟🎉 Recess Duty Superstars! 🎉🌟 A HUGE shoutout to Mrs. Rashel and Mrs. Kristy — the heroes of our playground! These two keep the fun rolling, the games going, and the laughter loud during recess. From tying shoes and solving kid-sized mysteries to cheering on every slide, jump, and kickball game, they make recess the best part of the day! ☀️🏃‍♂️💛 And when the bell rings, they’re back in the office helping families, supporting students, and keeping our school running smoothly. They truly do everything for our school! ✨ Fun Facts! 🌍 Mrs. Rashel has been a dedicated Recess Duty for 21 years and owns over 350 thimbles from around the world! ✈️ Mrs. Kristy is the #1 paper airplane maker, owns more LEGOs than her kids, and every December you can spot her disguised as a walking Christmas tree! 🎄😄 Thank you, Mrs. Rashel and Mrs. Kristy, for bringing joy, heart, and pure magic to our school every day! 🌈💫 @davisschooldistrict @laytonelementaryschool

The halls were truly decked today as the Davis High Madrigals filled our school with music, sparkle, and serious Christmas cheer! 🎄✨ They sang, they danced, and yes… they even brought real bells 🔔—we’re still deciding whether they came straight from the North Pole or if Santa just let them borrow a few. 😉🎅 Their harmonies were magical, their energy was contagious, and our hearts are definitely a few sizes bigger now. 🏠✨ Gingerbread Lane is OPEN! ✨🏠 Our staff and teachers have outdone themselves this year with the most creative (and hilarious!) gingerbread creations ever, and now it’s up to YOU—our students—to vote for your favorite! Take a stroll down Gingerbread Lane and you’ll find a K-Pop masterpiece ready to dance, a dumpster fire that’s “hot” in all the wrong ways, a Grinchmas scene stealing all the candy, a pink palace that’s way too sweet to handle, a cozy cabin in the woods, an Inside Out world full of emotions, a Candyland adventure bursting with sugar, an I-Spy challenge hiding surprises, a wicked wonder of mischief… and a few more! 💻✨ Staff Spotlight! ✨🐾 Meet our amazing STS, Mandi Corey—the tech wizard who keeps our school running! From fixing devices to saving the day, we truly couldn’t do it without her. Mandi spent 12 years as a teacher before becoming an STS, and she brings that same patience and creativity to every challenge. She’s a proud University of Utah grad and a HUGE dog lover—she has three pups now and has rescued nine total! 🐶🐶🐶+6 We’re so grateful for everything she does. 🌟 It’s School Psychologist Week! 🌟 Today we’re celebrating Haley Hand, our amazing psychologist who brings heart and harmony to our team (literally—she’s a violinist!). 🎻 Haley grew up playing violin and almost became a music teacher before choosing psychology. She’s a proud Cincinnati native and Bengals fan, a BYU grad school alum with her undergrad from Utah State University, and once even took paddleboard yoga in college. Her favorite animal is cats, and she loves Reese’s dark chocolate thins, Taylor Swift, the Jonas Brothers, and BTS. 💜 Thanks for all you do, Haley — we’re lucky to have you!
